Logo Design

Idea Sketch

To showcase its identity for any app, the logo plays a big part in attracting users. Take "Nike" for example. With just the check mark, it's recognized by the general public. A recognizable logo can have a huge impact and attract users to the app. To achieve this, I needed to design the most attractive logo for SwapStyle, starting with a rough sketch of the idea.

These sketches were my initial designs. The logo design idea #1 being more smooth in curvatures and has a softer first look. The logo design idea #2 is more edgy, dynamic, and stylish. In the end, I combined both ideas and took elements from the two designs to come up with the final logo design shown below.

Design Development

The most recognizable part of the logo is the letter S with arrows on both ends symbolizing the act of swapping items from user to user. This plays a big part in the app emphasizing the commitment to sustainable consumption. Like the saying "One man's trash is another man's treasure". I believe It's important to share this message with all users. By creating the logo with that in mind, hopefully, the users will understand the goal of SwapStyle.

Digitalization in Figma

After sketching the logo by hand, I used the drawing as a base to create a digital version. To balance the typography, I used shapes like circles and lines to create a compatible design.

Final Logo Design

For accessibility purposes, I created both light and dark mode versions. I double-checked accessibility using the color contrast checker in Adobe Color.
